I am is a self-taught artist who has been creating art since I was a child. For 23 years, I taught reading and writing to Junior High students in South Phoenix but would come home and create at night and during the weekends, usually watercolor paintings. I quit my full time teaching job in 2008 to become a full time artist.

After taking a fusing class in 2009, I knew I’d found a special medium that could be developed into my very own style. I’d purchased a few Dichroic glass pendants over the years so when I took the fusing workshop, I had a plan; to make pendant-like glass pieces but bigger and mount them on copper and other metals. I bought my first kiln that very day. That’s how it all began.

I love combining metals such as steel, copper, bronze, and brass into levels, separated by wood. Although the glass is the main focus of my pieces, the backdrop is also an integral part of my art. I use patina products and the Arizona sunshine to create the interesting textures and shapes on some of my metals. Watercolor canvas is also used as a backdrop in some of my pieces. The richness of coppers, bronze and brass are my three favorites but recently has been using a lot of textured aluminum and steel due to the complimentary shine of the metal. My work has a masculine and feminine feel to it… the masculine being the metals and the feminine being the glass.

I want the glass pieces to compliment the metals and textures and come together in such a way so that each piece sparkles with individuality and luminescence. Each is different and unique with its own special light characteristics and sparkle. I couldn’t replicate pieces even if I wanted to!! Everyone who owns my art has a one-of-a-kind piece. I have collectors from all over the world.

Texture, form, color, and energy are essential components in all my art. I believe everyone should surround themselves with things they love in the places where they spend the most time. My intent is to fill the world, one room/space at a time, with her pieces which I believes create good energy, love and light in the place where they hang.
